Instead of approaching the ulama's and doing good deeds, the POLRI (Police of Republic of Indonesia - ed) are welcoming the month of Ramadhan by arresting an ulama' of tawheed, Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir, Monday (9/8). Is the classic allegations related to terrorism addressed again to this figure who nurtures the Al-Mukmin Ngruki Ponpes (Islamic Boarding School)? The Police Headquarters are still stingy to share the information.

Masha Allah. Tyranny is again hitting this country. Approaching the month of Ramadhan, the ulama' of tawheed who is known to be doing da'wah tirelessly, Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir, is reportedly being re-arrested, Monday (9/8). This is as disclosed by the public information sector of the Police Headquarters, Kombes Marwoto Soeto.

 

“True, Ba’asyir has been arrested,”

According to Marwoto, Ba’asyir was arrested because of terrorism-related cases. However, in which cases of terrorism and to what extent is the involvement of this caregiver of the Islamic boarding school, Mr. Marwoto was still stingy to share the information.

Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir who is also the Amir of the Jama’ah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT) have long been the target of his enemies, especially America which does not want Islam to rise in this country. Various ways had been attempted to throw Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir back into prison, including linking him with terrorist activities.

Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir was arrested by the police while in Banjar Patroman, Ciamis, West Java. He was arrested after conducting a lecture session in Tasik Malaya. Until now Kombes Marwoto is still not ready to explain the reasons for the arrest of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir . Kombes Marwoto only agreed that Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir was arrested for terrorism-related cases and promised that there will be a press conference in the afternoon.

2 Akhwats Were Also Detained In The Arrest Of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir

As previously reported, the arrest in Banjar did not only arrest Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir. Two other akhwats were also arrested along with the Ustadz.

According to the information obtained by Muslimdaily through Afif Abdul Majid in between the interrupted meetings of the Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid, Monday (9/08/10), in the arrest of Ustadz Abu, also arrested were the wife of Ustadz Abu - Aisyah Baraja- and the wife of Ustadz Wahyuddin - Muslihah- (Director of Ponpes Al Mukmin Ngruki).

Besides that, also arrested along with the three of them were the bodyguard of Ustadz Abu -Widodo- and the car driver of the entourage– Sartono. The five persons still detained by the POLRI are yet to be confirmed in terms of their conditions and legal status.

The last contact between Widodo - the bodyguard of Ustadz Abu- and the Headquarters of JAT in Solo, mentioned that an arrest of their party had been taking place in Banjar. After that last contact, Widodo's handphone could not be contacted anymore.

Information from the source of JAT also mentioned that there were contacts between Ustadz Abu and the JAT Headquarters in Solo,which exchanged informations about the planned arrest of Ustadz Abu, while he was still conducting the lecture session in Tasikmalaya.

Ustadz Abu's entourage had also sent a message regarding the presence of terror from the apparatuses of the Densus 88 when Ustadz was still in Tasikmalaya. There were about 20 members of the Densus 88, ready to arrest.

"Never mind, we keep on moving. Do not be afraid of humans. We just put our tawakkal to Allah," the source of Muslimdaily imitated the speech of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir.

In The Arrest of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir, The Police Smashed The Car Windshield

Not much different from the arrest of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir in 2003, while he was ying ill in the PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Solo, the arrest of Ustadz Abu this time was also performed with violence and smashing of glasses.

The source of JAT mentioned that the car of Ustadz Abu had its windshield smashed by the apparatuses of the Densus 88. According to the source, there is a possibility that the windshield was broken because Ustadz Abu did want to surrender himself just like that.

In 2003, Ustadz Abu was forcibly dragged from the hospital ward by the police after having broken the glass door of Ustadz Abu's ward room.

The smashing of the glass door in 2003 in the efforts to arrest Ustadz Abu in the PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, had caused casualties on the santris (religious students) who were holding out inside the ward room. However, it still could not be confirmed whether there are victims in the smashing of the windshield of the car carrying Ustadz Abu and his entourage this time.

Abdul Rochim Ba'asyir Denounces The Arrest Of Both Parents

SOLO - Abdul Rochim Ba'asyir as the party representing the family, in his press statement held this afternoon in the office of JAT in Solo, strongly condemned the actions of the police in arresting both his father and mother.

Ustadz Abdul Rochim who is also a staff in the faculty of Al-Mukmin Ngruki Ponpes, deplores the arrest of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir because his father was not a DPO (listed wanted person - ed). He also deplores the way the arrest was made, why should the process be made on the road, why did not they try to settle it at home, in a more civilized manner.

This youngest son of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir also said that the cruel treatment done by the Police would reduce the credibility of the police.

He as the representative of the family appealed so that both of his parents would be immediately released. Beside arresting Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir as his father, the police are also detaining his mother. "My mother is already old, my mother does not know anything, why did she has to be taken in a thuggery manner?" Ustadz Abdul Rochim questioned.

He continued that for subsequent matters relating to the arrest of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, it would be handed over to the TPM (Team of Muslim Lawyers) ) in order to be able to proceed with the process thoroughly and legally. Meanwhile, for the health concerns of the Ustadz along with his wife, it is handed over to the MER-C and Dr. Jose Rizal, in order for both of their health to be monitored.

Ustadz Abdul Rochim hopes that the POLRI would free both his parents, especially his mother. Because, his mother is already old with an already declining health.
