(May Allah Protect Him)
Entitled:
“THE PATH OF DEPARTURES”
[Reminiscing the Martyrs’ of Somalia]
In the Name of Allah, and Praise be to Allah, and
Glorification is for Allah, and may peace and blessings be
upon the Messenger of Allah.
The flow of bullets was nonstop in that eventful Monday
morning when my phone rang briskly as it might have news that
will alleviate some of the unease that I was feeling. The
caller informed me that a revered brother among our battalion
was killed in the front-lines of the battle on that day. Hours
later, I would hear that some more of our beloved commanders
and scholars left us as martyrs to Allah, from the Land of the
Two Migrations (Somalia).
After a while, I heard the most devastating news of all, the
claim of Obama that our Sheikh Usama bin Laden was martyred in
Pakistan. Fearing that I might be even more weakened by these
heartbreaking calls, I silenced my mobile, and turned to the
enemy we were fighting with full attention. But the repetition
of the Mujahideen's departures continued reverberating in my
mind, until I reminded myself that the nature of this path was
departures one after the other, from this life to the eternal
life, and that the Jihadi arenas are the platforms for quick
departures directly to the highest levels of Firdaus al-A’la –
by the leave of Allah.
The departures of our beloved Mujahideen and the yearning of
those behind them for the same fate is a clear testimony of
how strong their love to meet Allah, the Almighty is. Their
haste of receiving Martyrdom is a manifest of their sincerity
for the Deen of Allah. Whenever one of the Mujahideen dies few
tears mixed with joy for their plight and sorrow for their
departure are shed for them, while the journey of their
struggle against the crusaders and the zionists continues
without even a pause. That day when we lost few of our dear
brothers, we went on with our duties as if nothing serious
occurred. We buried our Shuhada’ with full submission to what
Allah has ordained. Everyone was filled with sorrow that
eventually turned to even more hatred for the enemies of
Allah. We were fighting against the apostates who a while ago
took down the black banner of Tawhid and stepped on it,
without any regards to the sanctity of the statement written
on it. Our comrades’ blood was shed to raise that banner once
again in that region, and if they were given another life they
would have done just the same.
This is made possible by a creed deeply rooted in the heart of
every believer and fighter for the sake of Allah. Some of the
members in our battalion migrated from as far as Australia,
while others left the comfort lives of London and Minneapolis.
Some were as old as sixty years, others barely reached
eighteen. But they were all driven by a common denominator; an
amazingly attractive creed that knows no boundaries of
language, culture or region, and it demands nothing less than
the ultimate sacrifice. It is a creed that convinces its
carriers’ that since death is imminent and sooner or later
everyone shall taste it, then why not die with the honor of
martyrdom while serving the Religion of the Most High?!
Every Mujahid carries in his heart the creed that Allah is the
Creator, the Owner, and the Sustainer of this earth, therefore
only his commandments must be obeyed and His Word must be
uphold. It’s not a mere creed that has no place in the daily
lives of its believers, but it’s a living compass for its
carriers. A compass that works as a guide for every single one
of them, whether they are black or white, rich or poor, young
or old; in every field of life, from the east to the west of
this earth, and through centuries and millenniums. This creed
or as it’s called “Tawhid”, never allows its believers to sit
lethargically, when they hear the encouragements of Allah
Almighty to get up and strive hard and fight while sacrificing
their souls and everything they own for the sake of
establishing the Oneness of their Lord on earth.
It is that strong ‘Aqeedah which drove the uncountable numbers
of believers throughout history to march forth to every valley
and climb up every hill on the face of the planet while facing
all kinds of tribulations and tragedies for the cause of
raising the banner of Tawhid. Millions of expeditions on the
path of Jihad were sent since the era of Moses and thereafter.
Battles were fought, so many wars were won and some others
were lost, many vast lands that scatter through continents
were captured, and many nations were made to enter the fold of
Islam. The two most powerful and feared empires were forced to
kneel down to these ever advancing battalions of Tawhid, one
after the other.
Many pioneers of Tawhid departed while upholding the Deen of
Allah from the platforms of Jihad with a one-way ticket to the
promised Paradise. Greatness of many kinds was all over their
faces and actions. One of them was a teenage brother who left
the opportunity of enjoying his youth in the pleasures of the
United Kingdom. He decided to seek the pleasure of Allah, and
His Majesty's appreciation for his struggle, thus he migrated
to the Somali-Jihadi arena, got trained, fought and then got
killed in the service of his Most Beloved; Allah, the
Glorified and the Exalted. He was the leader of our unit, but
not an ordinary leader. Another pioneer on that day was a
father of three kids in his forties who was a member in my
battalion. He left his comfortable life in America only to
start another life in the Everlasting One. A well respected
Recitor of Qur’an left his studies in Cairo to uphold the
Qur’an in the daily lives of people. Never will I forget the
Fajr prayer when he led the Salah, reciting the last verses of
Surah al- Ibrahim with a deep soothing but powerful voice. All
of those and many more before and after them, paved a way for
the generations behind them, a Jihadi way of life, full of
martyrdoms, of which I refer to in this essay as “The Path of
Departures”.
Many of them departed in large groups at once, the likes of
the 70 Shuhada’ in Uhud, the martyrs’ of the well of Ma'oonah,
the hundreds of scholars among the Sahabah on the day of
Yamama, the gallant ones on the day of Jabiyah, the believers
who shed their blood in Belad Ash-Shuhada’ in al-Andalus, and
many other uncountable voyages that left their houses never to
come back again. Just recently about two decades ago in
Afghanistan, the Muslim Ummah in general, and the Jihadi
front-lines in particular, gave their last farewell to some of
the last martyrs among a million and more who departed to
Allah from Afghanistan. Nowadays almost weekly we have
caravans departing from our journey of Jihad, reminding us
again and again that our path is a path of martyrdoms.
In every
day, we have caravans headed for heavens *** as martyrs;
pleased with them is the Knower of All
What
can I say about what they established *** expressions are
weakened and pens are dried
They
were never busied by what surrounded them of illusions ***
nor extravagance nor songs
They
sacrificed their souls to support their Deen *** and were
not deviated by the rubble of this life
They
obtained martyrdom which was all of their desire *** and in
that evening their dreams came true
With an
unshakable believe that the path of martyrdoms is the route
that leads to the ultimate victory in both of the worlds, the
commanders of all Jihadi arenas along with their armies of
Monotheism, with the support of the true legitimate scholars,
are all departing from this life to attain their life-long
dream. Some of them only spent one day on the platforms of
this path, fighting only one battle and then attaining
Shahadah. As matter of fact some of my commanders on that day,
did only spent few minutes fighting in the first lines of
fire, but then were immediately selected by the Most Merciful
to be his honorable guests on that evening. On the other hand
some Mujahideen, like Sheik Usama, do spend decades searching
for the day of their departure.
Allah, the Almighty and Glorified says:
“If a wound (and killing)
has touched you, be sure a similar wound has touched the
others. And so are the days (good and bad), we give to men by
turns, and that Allah may test, those who believe, and that
he may take martyrs among you. And Allah likes not the
transgressors.”
It is the will of Allah
who may depart at what time and at what place. What concerns
us, the servants of Allah, is what we do prepare for that day.
As we have lost some of our revered brothers, leaders and
scholars in the last decade due to the barbaric new wave of
crusaders, and while many of their positions are covered,
their replacements are greatly needed. We firmly believe and
we are convinced by history again and again that despite these
losses of great men, even greater leaders are made in the
battlefields for the coming future. You my dear believer might
be that very person whom we are searching for. Due to the
difficult state that our Ummah is facing, any contribution for
Jihad and Mujahideen to stop the attacks of our enemies is
vital. Never sit idle! Read and write,
and spread everything that relates to our Jihad. Learn, train
and attain all that can be of assistance to our honorable
cause of raising the banner of “La ilaha illa Allah”.
As our beloved Commander
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi stated: “Let the entire world know that
our methodology of (Tawhid and Jihad) will never submit to
subordination... and the wombs who carried Khalid bin Waleed
and his likes do still give birth to men like them, despite
the arrogance of falsehood”. The Battalions of Faith will
forever continue marching ahead while destroying anyone who
stands against them. For that matter, the apostates of our
Muslim lands and their masters, the zionists and the crusaders
will all vanish under the strikes of the Believers, sooner or
later - without a doubt - by the will of Allah.
And may peace and blessings be upon the Trustworthy Guide, the
Prophet (peace be upon him) and on his family and pure and
virtuous companions, and Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the
Worlds.
