How for many, the Da’wah has become an Idol worshipped besides
Allah
27-03-2008
Shaykh Abi ‘Abdillah (hafidhullah) said,
“Some of these groups encourage the fawning on the
governor and forbid the Jihad under the pretext of the da’wah interest, till
this allegation became an idol worshipped besides Allah, and that leads to
giving priority to the orders of the group’s leaders instead of the orders of
Allah and His messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and this is the
manifest error.”
Have you ever noticed how the Muslims in the West have taken Da’wah to the level
of “protection of the image of Islaam”? So when Jihaad is occurring in the East
of the East and the West of the West, they will consider this a damage to the
public image of Islaam, in the name of Da’wah.
What they don’t realize is that the Da’wah is supposed to be in defense of the
Ummah against the Kuffaar; we are to show them that their Religion is false and
that what we are upon - the Muslims - is correct and the reward will be
everlasting if one accepts.
To mix truth with falsehood - by participating in interfaith dialogues, and show
obsession with the “public image” of the Muslims - is a recipe for the
destruction of ones allegiance and disavowal that is meant to be for the sake of
Allah, Ta’aala.
If the Kuffaar reject your Da’wah based on their rejection of terrorism, then
you simply tell them that Islaam, like a Government, permits its followers to
defend the Islaamic lands against invasion and Islaam, like a Government,
permits its followers to launch offensive in other Countries to wipe out false
and unjust governments, and replace them with righteous and just governments
based on Shari’ah (and this is where you expound the beauty and justice of
Shari’ah and counter many of the false accusations of the Orientalist Kuffaar,
if necessary).
If they talk of 9/11 and 7/7, then you talk of Hiroshima and the siege on
‘Iraaq. And if they disagree with their Government’s actions, then you have
taken one step forward in making them reject the Taaghoot.
And if they want you to condemn 9/11, then tell them: your acceptance of Islaam
should not be based on the condemnation of 9/11 because there is a difference of
opinion amongst the Islaamic Scholars on the permissibility of this attack. Your
acceptance of Islaam should be based on the fundamentals of the Religion such as
the Oneness of Allah, the 5 pillars, and rejection of all other deities that
mankind worships (such as ones lust, idols, angels, people etc.).
An example for the Muslims to muse over in regards to “hurting the image of
Islaam,” is the execution of 600-900 Jews of Banu Quraydha (and you can read
more about this in “The Sealed Nectar”) by the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi
wassallam) and the Sahaabah. It was done because the Jews had broken a treaty.
We ask our Ummah: did any of the Sahaabah take this incident and say, “this is
hurting the image of Islaam!” Or if a Sahaabi was asked about this by a Kaafir,
would he say, “no I condemn this act!” We don’t find such incidents because the
Sahaabah were firm upon their Deen and would be proud of their Jihaad.
What we can learn from this is that the Sahaabah put Jihaad in front of Da’wah
and the Jihaad was on a higher pedestal than the Da’wah. This is because Jihaad
is the gate to Al-Firdaus and there is no deed in comparison to it. So we too
must be proud of Jihaad and the victories we are enjoying today in Somalia,
‘Iraaq, Afghanistan and other lands. This is the mentality that brings our Ummah
one step closer to unity.
Another example from the Well of examples is the military siege of the Prophet (sallallahu
‘alayhi wassallam) and the Sahaabah upon at-Taa’if. And it is known from what is
authentically narrated that they used catapults upon the city of Taa’if and it
killed scores of people including women and children. So did the Sahaabah say,
“this is hurting the image of Islaam!!” Or if they were giving Da’wah and a
Kaafir asked about such an incident, did they say, “no I condemn this!” They
would never say such things because to do so would be condemning actions which
the Shari’ah permits.
So the one who is obsessed with this image of Islaam, has a wrong obsession
because it makes them reject Jihaad fe Sabeelillaah in many aspects (especially,
Offensive Jihaad and retaliation). So for these people, the Da’wah becomes like
an idol which is worshipped besides Allah (not literally, but metaphorically),
and such people must realize their mistake and repent for their Da’wah only
hurts the Da’wah efforts of others.
Please spread this to others and inform them of this major mistake which the
Ummah has fallen into.
